Reiki Principles

My top tips are based on the Reiki Principles and involve 5 affirmations, which I use daily.

1) "Just for today I release all worry"

It is hard not to worry, but the best thing to do is to acknowledge what is causing you concern then let it go. You cannot change anything by worrying. Trusting in the power of good, everything happens how it should!! 

2) "Just for today I release all anger"

Similarly instead of denying to yourself that you are angry about something it is better to bring it to the surface and find a safe way of defusing the emotion. You might even end up laughing at yourself. Remember what you resist persists!!

3) "Just for today I am honest with myself and others"

Honesty with oneself is being able to face the truth in all aspects of yourself. As far as possible, without hurt, it is good to be able to tell others how you feel even if you know they are not going to like it. For me it is definitely better to be respected for who I am than loved for superficial sham!!

4) "Just for today I honour every living thing"

By treating everything with love and respect we promote harmony in the world. It also encourages us to treat ourselves with love and respect. Remember, all forms of life are connected, everything we do is reflected.

5) "Just for today I live with an attitude of gratitude"

If we focus our thoughts on what we don't have, we will induce misery in ourselves and those around us. Focusing our thoughts on what we do have, even the simplest things and being thankful for them produces a positive and uplifting state of mind. Remember the law of attraction, the more you are grateful, the more things will come into your life to be grateful for.
